This policy explains how AccessRA handles information when you use accessra.com, including Engineering Knowledge, calculators and field tools, AccessRA Academy, interactive practicals and simulations, CAD/resources, search, contact/support features and account-based learning.
This policy covers the AccessRA website. The Android Field Handbook has a separate app privacy policy and data-deletion page.
1. Information we collect
What AccessRA receives depends on the feature you use. This may include account and contact details; Academy enrolment, lesson progress, assessment and Gauge Test Lab attempts; discussion content you choose to post; support/contact messages; and files or media you deliberately upload.
AccessRA also processes ordinary technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as IP address, browser/device information, requested pages, timestamps, response status and similar server logs.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate and secure AccessRA, authenticate accounts, preserve Academy progress, calculate requested engineering/tool results, run interactive features, respond to enquiries, improve navigation and content, diagnose faults or abuse, and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations.
Calculator inputs and article-practical interactions are used to produce the requested result or demonstration. They should not be treated as a substitute for an applicable engineering procedure, manufacturer instruction, calibration standard or competent technical judgement.
3. Analytics, cookies and local storage
AccessRA uses cookies and browser storage for essential functions such as authentication, session security, CSRF protection and interface preferences. Some Academy navigation preferences may also be stored on the device.
AccessRA currently uses Google Analytics to understand website usage and improve content, tools and navigation. Analytics information is not used to determine Academy assessment results or learner competency.
4. Academy and saved learning activity
For signed-in learners, AccessRA may retain enrolment status, lesson completion, knowledge-check results, practical-assessment attempts, Gauge Test Lab attempts and related course activity so learners can continue from where they stopped and so the learning service can function correctly.
Academy progress and assessment records are not sold to advertisers.
5. Sharing, service providers and external services
AccessRA does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, email, analytics, security, storage or other technical operations. AccessRA may also disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, AccessRA or the security of the service.
Some AccessRA pages link to or embed third-party resources such as manufacturer documentation, Google services or video platforms. Those services operate under their own privacy terms.
6. Advertising and Google services
AccessRA may use advertising services such as Google AdSense to support free technical content. Where advertising is enabled, Google and other approved advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, protect and, where permitted, personalise ads.
Where required by applicable law, AccessRA will request consent before non-essential advertising technologies are used. Users can manage Google's advertising personalisation through Google Ads Settings. Advertising services are not used by AccessRA to determine Academy assessment results or learner competency.
7. Retention, security and your choices
AccessRA retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for account operation, Academy progress, support, security, technical records and applicable legal obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
AccessRA uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Depending on applicable law and the information involved, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal information under AccessRA's control. AccessRA may need to verify a request and may retain information where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
8. Changes and contact
AccessRA may update this policy as the platform changes, including changes to Knowledge, tools, Academy features, analytics, advertising, service providers or legal requirements. The Last updated date and version shown at the top of this page identify the current revision.
